movie nights are good nights.

last night i went to see monster with rob & jo. two observations about the film:

1. charlize theron's (much discussed) transformation is absolutely phenomenal! everything was changed from her eye colour to her body language. really amazing.
2. by the time the movie is over, you are totally empathizing with charlize theron's character. and stimulating empathy for a serial killer / highway hooker / alcoholic is a pretty mean feat.

on a related note, because charlize theron will surely win the best actress award, i'm super excited for oscar night!!! it's really the equivalent of the super bowl for girls. sigh... i miss the oscar parties at the trash. good girly fun.
