crazy is as crazy does?
on my walk home from work yesterday, i saw a man come out of a convenience store at the corner of queen and ossington wearing a hospital gown. as this happened to be directly across from the main entrance to the centre for mental health & addiction, this is not as odd as it could've been. the odd part came when he looked around kind of frantically and ran across queen - against the lights, during rush hour - waving his arms and shouting. thankfully he ran directly back into camh.
i sort of got to wondering if he really was that off, or if he was just having a bit of fun with being a mental patient. you know, maybe he's thinking "well, here i am in the gown. might as well see if i can freak some people out."
while i was mulling that over, i walked past a man doing sort of a little skip-dance down the street: three steps forward, one shuffling half-step back. i immediately ceased any attempt at analysis of people's actions at queen & ossington. it's obviously just not going to get me anywhere.
