just another wednesday night

last night i was privileged to be part of a time honoured tradition : the bachelorette party. in spite of the shocking lack of pinatas and cakes resembling penises* (as at my only previous bachelorette experience), it was a pretty fun night in all. we started off with some drinks & appetizers at ros's house, and then headed to rodney's oyster house, which apparently has the best oysters in all of toronto. i'd never tried an oyster before, and was pretty hesitant about the whole thing, but one was lovingly prepared for me, so i obviously had to put on a brave face and toss back a raw mollusc. honestly, i didn't even taste it. the worst part was getting it to detach from the shell. i could be convinced to eat oysters again, but i don't think it's ever going to top my list.

after finishing 4 bottles of wine and an appropriate amount of oysters, all 8 of us piled into the HUGE buick that the 4 tiny guelph girls had rented and headed to the drake. i only stayed for about an hour before heading home at around 12.30... after all, i had to start looking busy at 8.30. lucky for me though, the girls had parked under my window, and said good bye at 2 am by honking their horn and shrieking. that was nice. oddly enough, i am bloody tired today.

* i feel i must mention that i, in fact, made the penis shaped cake - and got many props on my artistic skills (maybe that's what the psychic was referring to?). so for those of you out there wondering where to get one... now you know.
