the legend of will power
gather round children, and listen to the amazing story of the man, nay the myth, will power. will power is the stuff of legend. will power is a name that has been whispered in awe by many.
i first heard of will power from a friend who grew up in cobourg, where many a will power sighting occurred. since i didn't dare dream i would ever meet the man, i tried desperately to put it out of my mind. then, a huge sign painted on the side of a tractor trailer appeared near napanee on the 401, reading "I AM WILL POWER DEFINED". it taunted me.
finally... FINALLY... last spring i saw the man with my own eyes. i was in wal-mart in trenton with my mom (yeah, yeah, yeah. shut up.), i looked up, and there he was. wearing a hat, sweatshirt AND pants with every square inch covered in 4" x 6" index cards with various slogans, all related to (obviously)... will power. we had already paid & i was cursing myself for not having a camera. i even considered buying a disposable one, just to capture the moment. sadly, the lines were too long so i decided against it. my mom & i talked about him on our way home, trying to figure out... well... what the hell?!
then, out of the blue, i get an e-mail from my parents this weekend with the following picture attached.

will power!!! WILL POWER!!! my parents were going out for dinner & spotted him walking across the parking lot. being the nut that she is, my mom convinced my dad to catch up to him so he could take a picture with his PDA. note the various slogans on his, er, hat:
- "i am will power. seriously"
- "will power is my name"
- "i am will power inspired"

hey anne,
i wish i could post willpower's mailing address, but i think i must've lost it at 10 ontario or something. you forgot to explain that Willpower enjoys shitting on the floor in public washrooms and leaving his cards on top of the pile. he especially likes to target taco bell.
willpower is not my name,

Hello Anne,
I had not heard of Mr. WiLLPOWER until coming across your site.
The weird thing is, about a year or so ago, he sent me one of his cards in the mail. Not knowing what to make of it, I just threw it in a drawer. If you’d like to see a photo of the index card and read a brief write-up, swing by my bjournal.
I would also be grateful if you could post any more info about this odd soul and what motivates him to do whatever it is he thinks he’s doing.
Cheers,
Magpie
