home is where the heart is

there's no denying it: when you sign 5 books out of the library & 4 are about real estate, purchasing a first home, or (ugh) mortgage rates.... you are most decidedly an adult.

being a first time homebuyer is a pretty exciting time, although it might be more exciting if $250,000 (that would be one-quarter of a million dollars) got you more than 700 square feet of space. having grown up in the country, in a very large house with lots of property, and surrounded by woods and even, yes, a creek, buying something the approximate size and personality of a breadbox is somewhat off-putting.

even still... i can't wait to get in there & start building equity! i can't wait to give up vacations, and clothes, and... crap. well, at least i can throw some killer dinner parties, right?
