belly dancing: take 2
i'll just start off by saying that i really do appreciate all of the terrific classes that the toronto district school board (tdsb) provides. there are a wide range of affordable, accessible programs providing instruction on everything from languages to sculpture to auto repair. oh, and belly dancing.
last night was the second of nine classes, and i'm sure we all remember just how super terrific the first class turned out. the second class was (not surprisingly) more of the same, although the instructor opted not to wear a floor length polyester skit this time. just your standard black leggings. however, her lack of warmth & poor instruction techniques remained steadfastly unchanged. while the first class was a pretty hilarious experience, the second class was just plain uncomfortable. i did learn how to "shimmy & shake" a bit, so i'll give it at least another week (to feel like my $71 wasn?t completely wasted) but i don't expect to make it the full 9 weeks.
the next proposed foray in extra-curricular activities?
knitting!
update (feb 5): didn't go to class last week (opting instead to drink massive quantities of wine), and have other plans for the next 2 wednesdays.... not looking good for belly dancing!
